As I see the news and try to balance life and live with the uncertainty of the unknown, I decided that the best thing to do to find peace was write down what I do know to be true. ~Iesha

I know that the world won’t shift and ache for all eternity,

Even when people scorch and filth her with their depravity,

Beyond that hurt and injustice, beyond all that human’s do,

Within us is placed greatness. This I know to be true.

I know that humanity won’t always fear an upcoming battle,

That cries of women, men and children will someday all sattle,

That upon a pillow of justice, we will see what we always knew,

Hope, grace and love prevail. This I know to be true.

I know that people won’t always fight. Fires won’t surely last,

Anxiety and depression, will someday all be cast,

Into the depths that made them, and love will reign anew,

Because we are deemed worthy. This I know to be true.

I know fear won’t always overcome you, like a deep fog in the night.

You won’t always second guess yourself, your confidence won’t fight,

For your mind to be at ease, character upheld in all you do,

Light always overcomes darkness. This I know to be true.

I know children won’t always wonder why adults can’t be humane,

Why differences cause division, why simple maturity can’t sustain,

Conversations won’t always end with lost friends and words one can’t undo,

Morality outweighs self-righteousness. This I know to be true.

I know time won’t always be wasted, like water down the drain,

And someday we will choose against doing so many things in vain,

That someday time will be a commodity we wish not to lose,

Because time is ever-fleeting. This I know to be true.

I know that beyond our contemplation, our worry of the unknown,

Beyond all sense of reckoning, beyond what’s earthly shown,

There is power in the bigger picture, from relationships to the morning dew,

Blessings surround us everywhere. This I know to be true.
